Although only five minutes' walk out of the old village of Gerani, the narrow ascent to Villa Selli is stony and shrouded in olive groves, taking you back a hundred years to the traditional agrarian economy of Crete. The villa commands a hill-top position nestling among olive groves with spectacular views from three sides over the bay and breathtaking views of the surrounding unspoilt countryside , populated in turn with olive groves and orange orchards. Newly built but with traditional features and on the site of an old farmhouse, it is set apart in its own grounds of olive and orange trees , and is the perfect place to unwind. The beach is never far away in Crete and Gerani beach is a particularly peaceful and clean stretch of sandy shoreline only a 5-minute drive away. The beach is remarkably quiet even in the height of summer.

The traditional one small grocer shop in old Gerani is only a 5-minute stroll down the hill, providing basic provisions. It also has one 'kafeneo' (a traditional cafe where mostly old men sit and drink their strong Greek coffee and play backgammon, seemingly without a care in the world) and two traditional Byzantine . The nearest mini markets are in the new village of Gerani (there is an old and new village) which is a five-minute drive by car.

The VIlla and Facilities
The villa is luxury itself, sporting a gym and indoor swimming pool/Jacuzzi, 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and several balconies . The generous external terrace overlooks the swimming pool and provides shade in the heat of the day. Take your morning coffee sitting on one of the balconies and splendour in the views of the swimming pool and gardens studded with scarlet hibiscus and crimson bougainvillea, the calm green hills and distant turquoise beaches. Each bedroom is fully air-conditioned for the hottest times of year. The kitchen is extensively equipped with everything a group of up to 10/12 could need for ease and comfort: a dishwasher, oven, large fridge, washing machine, microwave, sandwich toaster and meat grill. In addition, you can benefit from cable TV, a DVD player, an indoor gym, indoor heated pool/Jacuzzi, outdoor swimming pool and toddler pool.

Transfers and Car Hire
Transfer from the airport is included in the villa hire charge. Hire car can be provided by us or you can arrange your own.

Services
Cleaning
A free maid service is provided twice a week for cleaning and to change bedclothes once a week. Beach towels are provided in addition to bathroom towels. Bathroom towels are changed once a week. Towels are free of charges

Baby sitting
We offer a baby sitting service by a responsible, mature English mother in July and August one evening a week at reasonable rates. The service is not guaranteed to be available in winter but can nevertheless normally be organised by arrangement. The baby sitting service is between 25-40 Euros.

Cooking
Save yourself labour and - better than hiring your own chef - order free of delivery charge from our nearby restaurant 'taverna' which will provide freshly prepared meals for your party daytime and evening. The 40-item menu includes Greek, Cretan and international cuisine plus a speciality of the day each evening, 7 days a week giving you all the flexibility a large party would want and the best of both worlds. Our menu prices are very affordable yet the quality much celebrated by our past guests. You can save money and have fun browsing for your own wines in the local shops. (This restaurant service is not available in winter but a cook can be accommodated if required in winter at a cost of 80 Euros a day.)
